Though this is a bit off Lawrence's main drags, it's definitely worth a small side trip. Everything I got here was delicious. The menu isn't subdivided into appetizers and entrees, so I felt encouraged to select a couple of things at random and make a meal of them. The fried rice was excellent, but I was completely amazed at the 'fish & dips.' Not only did the tater tots amaze on their own, but the dips were beyond delicious.
I'm giving a 5 but there were just a couple things I'll say I wish was fixed. But first, the atmosphere is beautiful and the food is some of the most delicious in all of Lawrence! The fried rice is better than some Chinese food resteaunts I've been to. Their shrimp is large and juicy. The chocolate torte with cherrys was insanely good! The duck leg was super tender. Service was nice. More than just my waitress asked me how I was doing which was really nice since I ate alone. Now for the small parts that almost made me rate lower but weren't big enough to change my mind: The HOUSE wine was 10 dollars per glass. I have never had a glass of house wine over 6 dollars before...but it was so delicious I bought two glasses. They present the duck leg in a bowl with mashed potatoes and gravy and some spring lettuce mix. I think it needs to be on a plate where I can see the bone and not get little leg bone mixed in the gravy. Also salad with gravy is not a great taste so I'd want that separate. That's it! Everything else was phenomenal and I think the prices are fine for Lawrence standards. Yes still too expensive but so is every restraunt here.
My husband and I booked a reservation here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The staff had made the cutest little “Happy Anniversary” card for the table and set little flowers on it! It was a sweet gesture. Our waitress was very nice and the food was DELISH. To top it off, dessert was on the house and they brought it out with a candle in it!! The cocktails and food were really creative and good. We had a great first experience here!
Bon Bon is always superb. The social hour is great. Drinks are on point and food is very well executed and tasty. Be sure to try Beet, and The Salad (somehow it's a dead on reimagining of a 1990's Pizza Hut). We've had Alex as a server several times. She's excellent, but all the service is attentive and not smothering. Desserts are also great if you have room.
Phenomenal experience. Made reservations day of, it was restaurant week, we didn’t order from their 4 course menu, but they said we could order off of the restaurant week menu or their regular menu. We got Beef Noodles (to die for) and the cheese corn patty and Black Sesame roasted cauliflower. Everything was very good. We will definitely be back because everything on the menus sounded great. We spent more time deciding what to get than it took to order and receive our food. Very quick service.
Get ready for the reopening in early October! We attended a private event this week and everything was great. Food was excellent. Not sure what the finished menu will look like, but if the food we enjoyed was any indication it’ll be good. Space is cozy and intimate and still has that amazing patio.
Great for date night! This was our first visit and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were amazing and friendly. I am still thinking of the dessert. I’d recommend making reservations.
Bon Bon always delivers a unique eating experience and great dining vibe. Many new items on the specials list along with our solid favorites on the menu. The drinks from the bar are by far the best we have ever had.
